Vaug Class 6 - Usually

Vaughan Lesson
Usually
"Soler hacer algo" suele causar problemas, ya que en inglés el presente de este verbo no existe. Superamos esta carencia recurriendo al adverbio "usually". Se coloca justo después del verbo "to be" y los demás verbos auxiliares.
Suelo estar alegre.
I'm usually cheerful.
Suelo llegar tarde.
I'm usually late.
Ella suele estar aquí.
She's usually here.
Él suele estar cansado los viernes.
He's usually tired on Fridays.
Suelen tener hambre a esta hora.
They're usually hungry at this time.
I usually brush my teeth at midday.
Suelo ir al trabajo en tren.
I usually go to work by train.
Solemos estar de acuerdo.
We usually agree.
Suelen ganar.
They usually win.
Ella suele perder sus llaves.
She usually loses her keys.

Vaug Class 5 - There to be

Want / Like there to be
No puedo hablar del verbo "there + to be" sin llamar tu atención a su uso con los verbos "to want" y "to like", ya que en inglés la estructura puede sonar muy extraña para un español. Con estos dos verbos, "there" funciona como pronombre objeto igual que "him" o "me" y le sigue el infinitivo con "to". Empecemos con "want".
Quiero que haya paz en el mundo.
I want there to be peace in the world.
No quiero que haya problemas.
I don't want there to be any problems.
Do you really want there to be a picture of a frog on the front cover?
He wants there to be tighter security for the event.
I want there to be more people there next time.
Veámoslo ahora con el verbo "to like".
Would you like there to be better mobile coverage in your village?
Would you like there to be three or four different appetizers at the wedding?
¿Te gustaría que hubiese menos contaminación?
Would you like there to be less pollution?
Would you like there to be more trees where you live?

BLACK FRIDAY

Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. Especially popular in the United States, the event is spreading to other nations such as Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. On this day, many retailers open very early, often at 4 a.m., or earlier, and offer promotional sales to kick off the shopping season. Black Friday is not actually a holiday, but many employers give their employees the day off, increasing the number of potential shoppers. It has routinely been the busiest shopping day of the year since 2005, although news reports, which at that time were inaccurate, have described it as the busiest shopping day of the year for a much longer period of time.
The day's name originated in Philadelphia, where it originally was used to describe the heavy and disruptive pedestrian and vehicle traffic which would occur on the day after Thanksgiving. Use of the term began by 1966 and began to see broader use outside Philadelphia around 1975. Later an alternative explanation began to be offered: that "Black Friday" indicates the period during which retailers are turning a profit, or "in the black."
Because Thanksgiving always falls on the fourth Thursday in November in the United States, the day after occurs between the 23rd and the 29th of November.
